Description

Job Title: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Hays KS

Duration: 13 weeks

Shift:
36 or 48 hours per week
Weekend rotation required
No on-call

Key Responsibilities

Provide intermediate-level nursing care to PCU patients with patient ratios of 1:4–5
Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including IV starts
Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and patient conditions
Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe, high-quality care
Float within scope of practice to meet facility needs
Accurately document patient care using Meditech EMR

Required Qualifications

Active RN license (pending license not accepted)
Minimum 1 year of PCU or comparable acute care experience
Proven IV start competency
Ability to work weekend rotations
First-time travelers accepted

Current Certifications

BLS
ACLS

Preferred Qualifications

Previous travel nursing experience
Experience in acute care or progressive care hospital settings

Distance Requirement

Local candidates accepted within a 60-mile radius
