Job Title

Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse (PCU RN) – Neuroscience

Location

Charleston, SC 

Estimated Pay Package: Up to $ 1710.00 per week

Duration

13 week

Shift

  • 3x12-hour shifts

  • Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

  • Holidays as needed

  • Weekend requirement: 4–5 weekend shifts in a 4-week period

  • No on-call requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide intermediate-level nursing care to neuroscience patients in a Progressive Care/Stepdown unit

  • Monitor and manage patients with neurological conditions, adjusting care based on acuity

  • Perform comprehensive assessments, monitor neurological status, and document patient care accurately

  • Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to deliver safe, high-quality patient care

  • Float within scope to comparable units as needed to meet facility staffing requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Active South Carolina RN license or Multi-State/Compact RN license

  • Minimum of 1 year of PCU or Stepdown nursing experience

  • Prior experience caring for intermediate-acuity patients

  • Ability to float within scope of practice as needed

Current Certifications

  • BLS (American Heart Association only)

  • ACLS (American Heart Association only)

  • NIHSS (American Heart Association only)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a Neuroscience PCU or Stepdown unit

  • Strong neurological assessment and critical thinking skills

  • Familiarity with Epic electronic medical record system

Distance Requirement

  • Local candidates accepted

  • Local radius: 60 miles (locals accepted on a case-by-case basis)
