Description
Title: Radiation Therapist
Location: Eureka, CA
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 5x8 hours (08:00 AM – 04:30 PM)
Job responsibilities and all required and preferred skills and requirements
Radiation Therapist needed for a Radiation Oncology unit in an acute care hospital setting. The role involves delivering safe and accurate radiation therapy treatments to adult and geriatric patients with various cancer diagnoses.
Responsibilities:

Administer external beam radiation therapy and advanced treatment techniques per physician orders

Perform simulation of treatment sites and assist with treatment planning implementation
-
Operate and monitor radiation therapy equipment, including Elekta systems
-
Conduct chart checks, field shaping, and treatment verification imaging (CBCT/kV/mV)
-
Ensure radiation safety standards and isolation precautions are followed
-
Provide patient and family education and support throughout treatment
-
Assist with emergency cases and special procedures such as SRS, SBRT, and IMRT
-
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient care
Required Qualifications:
-
Minimum 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience

ARRT (T) certification
-
BLS certification
-
Active state license (pending license not accepted)

Experience with Epic charting system
-
Ability to work in adult acute care and outpatient settings
Preferred Skills & Experience:
-
Experience with IMRT, SRS, SBRT, respiratory gating, and stereotactic radiosurgery
-
Familiarity with Mosaiq and C-RAD systems
-
Experience treating a wide range of diagnoses including breast, prostate, lung, and head & neck cancers

Knowledge of beam modification, custom molds, wedges, and compensation filters

Strong understanding of radiation safety, billing for treatment types, and quality assurance processes
