Medical Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (MICU RN)

Shift

• 3x12-hour shifts

• Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

• Every other weekend required

• Holiday rotation required

• No on-call required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct, high-acuity nursing care to critically ill patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit

• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions, responding promptly to changes in clinical status

• Manage ventilated patients, hemodynamic monitoring, titration of critical drips, and advanced life-support interventions

• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement patient care plans

• Float within scope to comparable critical care units as needed, following the same expectations as core staff

Required Qualifications

• Active South Carolina RN license or Compact RN license (must be in hand prior to start)

• Minimum of 1 year of MICU or ICU experience (2 years preferred)

• Experience caring for high-acuity, critically ill adult patients

• Ability to float to like units within scope of practice

Current Certifications

• BLS

• ACLS

• NIHSS

Preferred Qualifications

• Two or more years of MICU or critical care experience

• Strong critical thinking, assessment, and clinical decision-making skills

• Experience working in facilities using Epic charting

Distance Requirement

• Must reside 60 miles or more from the facility
