Radiologic Technologist - Radiographer
Location: Detroit, MI 48236
Job Duration: 18 Weeks
Schedule: 4 × 10-Hour Day Shifts | 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Shift: Day Shift
Hours per Week: 40
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
On-Call: No
Block Scheduling: No
Potential Flexibility: Limited flexibility with hours
Interview Type: MS Teams or Phone
Interview Duration: 15 minutes
Interview Panel: Manager, Supervisor, and possible Lead Tech
Experience Requirements
Minimum 2 years of Radiologic Technologist experience. Must have Level I or Level II Trauma experience. Operating Room (OR) experience required.
Position Overview
Under the direction of a Radiologist, the Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic radiologic procedures to evaluate pathological conditions as ordered by a physician. The technologist applies independent judgment to determine appropriate imaging techniques, patient positioning, and radiation safety practices while following departmental protocols.
Primary Responsibilities
Assigned to ER or OR; performs portable imaging. Works with young and geriatric patient populations. Explains procedures and prepares patients for exams. Reviews requisitions and patient history prior to imaging. Prepares procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies. Performs radiologic procedures using proper positioning and techniques. Operates imaging equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images. Administers IV contrast when applicable and monitors for reactions. Applies radiation safety principles (ALARA). Prepares sterile equipment and follows infection control standards. Ensures patient safety, privacy, and comfort. Completes all required documentation, logs, and patient records. Assists with training and education of new hires and students. Resolves image exceptions and ensures quality image delivery in PACS. Completes study indexing in RIS. Collaborates with Radiologists on clinical protocols. Demonstrates professionalism, teamwork, and customer service excellence.

High School Diploma or GED required. Must maintain required continuing education hours.
Certifications / Licensure
- ARRT (RT) required.
- BLS (Healthcare Provider) required.
Physical Demands / Working Conditions
Hospital-based role (ER, OR, IPD, mobile units). Potential exposure to radiation and high-voltage equipment. Potential exposure to contagious patients. Occasional lifting or moving of equipment and/or patients over 10 lbs.
