Description
Radiologic Technologist (Radiographer)
Location: Southfield, MI 48075
Facility: Level II Trauma Center
Job Duration: 13 Weeks (with possibility to extend)
Schedule: 4 × 10-Hour Day Shifts | 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Shift: Day Shift
Hours per Week: 40
Weekend Rotation: Every 3rd weekend
On-Call Requirement: Weekend and midnight call required
Interview Type: Phone
Schedule: NOT NEGOTIABLE
Candidates must be willing to take call
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience
- Must have Operating Room (OR) experience including neuro, vascular, percutaneous fusions, and O-Arm
Position Summary
Under the direction of a Radiologist, the Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic radiologic procedures to evaluate pathological conditions as ordered by a physician. The technologist exercises independent judgment in selecting appropriate imaging techniques, positioning, and radiation safety practices while following departmental protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Explain imaging procedures and prepare patients for examinations
- Review clinical data and patient history prior to procedures
- Prepare and maintain procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies
- Perform radiologic procedures using appropriate positioning and techniques
- Administer IV contrast when applicable and monitor for adverse reactions
- Apply radiation safety principles (ALARA)
- Ensure patient safety, privacy, comfort, and confidentiality
- Complete documentation, logs, and patient records
- Support PACS and RIS workflows
- Assist with training and education of new hires and students
- Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and customer service excellence
Physical Demands / Working Conditions
- Hospital-based role (OR, ER, IPD, mobile units)
- Exposure to radiation and high-voltage equipment
- Occasional lifting/moving of equipment or patients (>10 lbs)
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Continuing education must be maintained
