Description
Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist – Radiology/Cardiology
Location: Costa Mesa, CA
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day Shift – 5x8-Hour (Variable start time 06:30–09:30, Monday–Saturday)
Job Responsibilities
-
Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures for adult and pediatric patients in hospital and clinic settings
-
Conduct nuclear cardiology studies including myocardial perfusion imaging and pharmacological or exercise stress testing
-
Administer radiopharmaceuticals following safety, storage, handling, and disposal regulations
-
Perform PET, SPECT, and general nuclear medicine imaging studies
-
Conduct bone scans (limited, whole body, and three-phase), brain scans, lung scans, renal studies, thyroid studies, and tumor localization procedures
-
Assist with specialized procedures such as HIDA scans, gastric emptying studies, and cancer surveys
-
Draw venous blood, start and maintain IVs, and follow isolation precautions

Operate nuclear medicine imaging equipment (Client, Philips, Siemens)

Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in the electronic medical record system
-
Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards and departmental policies

Participate in teaching hospital workflows and support research PET imaging when scheduled
Required Skills & Experience
-
Minimum of 1 year of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience
-
Experience performing nuclear cardiology and general nuclear medicine procedures
-
Experience with myocardial perfusion studies and stress testing (exercise and pharmacological)

Strong knowledge of radioactive material safety and handling
-
Ability to work in hospital, clinic, and nuclear cardiology settings

Experience caring for adult patient populations

Strong attention to detail, time management, and patient care skills
Required Certifications & Licensure
-
Active California State Nuclear Medicine Technologist License (required, in hand)

ARRT (N) – Nuclear Medicine (required)
-
CNMT – Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (required)
-
NMTCB – Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (required)
-
BLS – Basic Life Support (required, active)
