Description
Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist – Radiology / Cardiology
Location: Orangeburg, SC
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day Shift – 5x8-Hour (06:30 – 15:00)
Job Responsibilities
-
Perform a full range of diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures for adult patients
-
Prepare, administer, and monitor radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with safety regulations
-
Conduct general nuclear medicine and cardiology imaging studies
-
Perform specialized studies including:
-
Bone scans (whole body and 3-phase)
-
HIDA scans
-
GI bleed studies
-
Lymphoscintigraphy
-
Parathyroid imaging
-
Thyroid uptake and imaging
-
Renal scans with Lasix
-
Lung scans
-
MUGA scans
-
WBC infection imaging
-
Myocardial Perfusion Imaging (MPI) stress tests
-
-
Ensure proper patient positioning, imaging protocols, and image quality
-
Maintain compliance with radiation safety standards and documentation
-
Collaborate with physicians, cardiology teams, and interdisciplinary staff
-
Float between General Nuclear Medicine and Cardiology as needed
-
Participate in rotating on-call coverage, including weekends and holidays (call only)

Document procedures and patient information accurately per hospital policy
Required Skills & Experience
-
Minimum of 3 years of recent Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience
-
Strong experience performing both general nuclear medicine and cardiac imaging studies
-
Ability to work independently in an acute care hospital setting
-
Familiarity with adult patient populations
-
Comfortable floating between service lines (Nuclear Medicine and Cardiology)

First-time travelers accepted
Required Certifications & Licensure
-
NMTCB (N) or ARRT (N) – Nuclear Medicine Certification (Required)

BLS – Basic Life Support (Required)
-
South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA) License
-
Nuclear Medicine and Radiology or Computed Tomography (Required)

ARRT (CT) – Preferred but not required
