Description

Registered Dietitian

Location: Bronx, NY 10451
Job Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift: 5×8-Hour Day Shift
Schedule: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours per Week: 40
Guaranteed Hours: Dependent on facility requirements

Job Summary

Monitors patients for food and drug interactions and provides related education
Records food and drug interactions in the education section
Consults with physicians regarding appropriate diet modifications

Job Responsibilities

Screens and assesses patients accurately and timely based on level of care
Determines patients' nutritional needs, status, and provides follow-up care
Interviews patients and/or families to obtain food history and preferences
Interprets relevant laboratory, physical, and social data for nutrition care
Provides nutrition education and documents diet instructions and patient understanding
Modifies patient menus as needed

Required Skills & Experience

Two (2) years of experience

Required Education

Graduate from an accredited college/university with a degree in Dietetics or Foods and Nutrition

Preferred Education

Master's degree

Required Certifications & Licensure

Post-Acute Care: New York State Certification issued by NYSED as a "Dietitian-Nutritionist”
Acute Care: Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian (Primary Source Verification required)
AHA BLS
