Float Requirement: Yes (to MS, Stepdown, PCU, ER, CVICU; max 4 patients)
Weekend Requirement: Yes, 6 shifts per schedule period

Requirements

Licensure:

• NM RN license or Compact RN license required

Experience:

• 1 years ICU experience

• First-time travelers accepted

Patient Ratio:

• 1:2

Travel Experience:

• Not required

Local Radius:

• Locals within 50 miles not accepted

Certifications

• BLS – Required

• ACLS – Preferred

• NIHSS – Preferred

Skills & Competencies

IV / Vascular Access:

• Peripheral IV, PICC, central line care

• Arterial line management

• Blood product administration

Respiratory / Thoracic:

• Ventilator management, care of ventilated patients

• CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC

• Chest tube insertion/removal assistance

• Suctioning (ETT, NT)

Neurological:

• CVA / acute stroke management

• ICP monitoring, external ventricular drain (EVD)

• Post-neurosurgery care

• Hypothermia protocol (Arctic Sun)

Cardiovascular:

• Continuous IV sedation, vasoactive drip titration

• Procedural sedation monitoring

• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management

• Multi-system organ dysfunction

Other:

• GI surgery patient care

• Chronic/acute renal failure care

• Infection prevention, isolation precautions, phlebotomy

• Wound care including surgical wounds and Wound VAC
