Job Description

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing cardiac nuclear medicine procedures, including stress testing and PET/CT studies, in an outpatient clinical setting. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a fast-paced workflow while ensuring patient safety and quality imaging.

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiac nuclear medicine procedures, including Nuclear Stress Tests and PET/CT stress studies.

• Conduct an average of 8–10 Nuclear Stress Tests and approximately 5 PET/CT stress tests per day.

• Prepare, administer, and document radiopharmaceuticals in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

• Operate nuclear medicine and PET/CT imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.

• Explain procedures to patients, answer questions, and provide reassurance throughout the exam process.

• Monitor patients during stress testing and report any unusual reactions to appropriate clinical staff.

• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.

• Perform routine equipment quality control and ensure compliance with safety protocols.

• Maintain a clean, organized work environment and manage daily workflow independently.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine or Radiologic Technology program (required).

• CNMT certification required upon hire (ART certification acceptable).

• Prior experience in an outpatient clinic setting required.

• Experience with cardiac and stress testing procedures preferred.

• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a high-volume outpatient environment.
