Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
Location: Columbus, OH
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day Shift – 3x12-Hour (07:00 – 19:30)

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive respiratory care to adult and geriatric patients in a large academic medical center

• Perform respiratory assessments and deliver ordered therapies including aerosolized medications and oxygen therapy

• Manage and monitor patients on invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation

• Operate and troubleshoot ventilators, including Client 860 ventilators

• Administer respiratory medications such as bronchodilators, inhaled steroids, nitric oxide, and pulmonary vasodilators

• Assist with airway management including intubation support, extubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care

• Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and adjust respiratory therapy plans accordingly

• Provide pulmonary hygiene and sputum specimen collection

• Respond to emergency situations in critical care units and the emergency department as needed

• Document respiratory care accurately per hospital policy

• Float between campuses, including East Hospital, as required

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as a Respiratory Therapist

• Experience in adult critical care and emergency department settings preferred

• Strong skills in ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula therapy

• Ability to work weekends and adhere to required scheduling

• Flexibility to float between units and campuses

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – NBRC (required; CRT considered if applicable)

• Ohio Respiratory Care License (active or eligible)

• BLS – Basic Life Support (active)

• ACLS – Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (preferred)

• High School Diploma and College Diploma and/or transcripts required
