Title: CVOR Surgical Technologist (CST) – Surgical Services
Location: Greenville, SC
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day Shift – 4x10-Hour (06:00 – 16:30)

Job Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team in a high-acuity Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) setting

• Scrub and support complex cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures

• Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields, instruments, and supplies

• Anticipate surgeon needs and provide instruments, sutures, and equipment promptly

• Assist with procedures including but not limited to CABG, valve replacements, aortic repairs, and VAD cases

• Support Level I Trauma cases as required

• Participate in first assist duties when applicable

• Ensure proper handling and care of surgical specimens

• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to hospital policies and safety standards

• Take scheduled call during weekdays and weekends based on unit needs

• Float to other qualified OR/CVOR areas or campuses as needed

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 1–2 years of recent CVOR Surgical Tech experience

• Level I Trauma experience required

• Strong cardiovascular surgery skill set, including:

  • Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG)

  • Mitral valve replacement

  • Aortic aneurysm repair

  • Pericardial window

  • Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) procedures

• Experience or exposure preferred in:

  • Endovascular Aortic Repair (EVAR)

  • Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)

  • Angioplasty and stenting

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity surgical environment

• Willingness to take call (minimum of 5 weekend call shifts per contract)

• Travel experience required

• Flexibility to float per facility policy

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Required

• NBSTSA Certification – Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA Required
