Job Title: Radiation Therapist
Location: Washington, DC 20037
Assignment Duration: 13 weeks 
Shift: Day Shift | 8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday (40 hours/week)
Call: Weekend call possible
Eligibility: Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility

Position Summary

The Radiation Therapist is responsible for delivering daily radiation treatments using ionizing radiation under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist. This role involves close collaboration with physicians, physicists, and clinical staff to ensure safe, accurate, and effective treatment planning and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer daily radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist.

  • Perform daily warm-up and quality assurance (QA) procedures for treatment machines and CT simulators.

  • Assist in simulation and treatment planning, including calculations, in collaboration with the Radiation Oncologist and Physics team.

  • Educate patients and family members on radiation therapy procedures to reduce anxiety and address concerns.

  • Ensure accurate and complete transmission of treatment data for dose calculations and planning.

  • Follow established treatment protocols and departmental standards.

  • Verify that all treatment-related documentation and processes are reviewed and signed off by the Radiation Oncologist, including:

    • Isodose plans and calculations

    • Laboratory and radiology results

    • Clinical documentation (consults, OTVs, interval notes, end-of-treatment notes)

Required Qualifications

  • ARRT Certification in Radiation Therapy (RT[T]) – Required

  • Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (Department of State Health Services) – Required

  • BLS Certification – Required

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist

  • Credentialed as a Radiation Therapy Technologist (RTT)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Radiation Therapy or related field

Equipment & Systems Experience

  • Linear Accelerator

  • CT Simulator

  • ADAC Treatment Planning System

  • VARIS System
