Description

Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Pediatric / Neuro Diagnostics
Location: Charleston, SC
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift – 3x12-Hour (19:00–07:30)

Job Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive respiratory care to neonatal, infant, pediatric, and adolescent patients
Deliver advanced respiratory therapy services in NICU, Pediatric Critical Care, and Pediatric units
Perform airway management, including suctioning, extubation, and ventilator management
Assist with and support bronchoscopy procedures (preferred experience)
Monitor patient response to respiratory treatments and adjust care plans accordingly
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams in a teaching hospital environment
Accurately document assessments, treatments, and outcomes using EPIC (preferred) or comparable charting systems
Support trauma and high-acuity pediatric patients in a Level I Trauma environment
Float within scope of practice based on experience and unit needs
Comply with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols
Participate in holiday rotation and work every other weekend as required

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum 2–3 years of recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
Required experience with pediatric, neonatal, and infant patient populations
Experience in NICU and Pediatric Critical Care settings
Strong knowledge of airway management devices and respiratory support techniques
Ability to work independently during night shifts in a fast-paced acute care environment
Teaching hospital and Level I Trauma experience preferred
Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Required Certifications & Licensure

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential – Required
Active South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider (RCP) license – Required
Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – Required
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – Required
