Title: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Ambulatory OR
Location: Charleston, SC
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift – 4x10-Hour (06:30–17:00)

Job Responsibilities

• Function as a Certified Surgical Technologist in a high-volume Ambulatory Operating Room

• Prepare operating rooms by assembling instruments, equipment, supplies, and sterile fields appropriate to scheduled procedures

• Perform scrub duties for ambulatory surgical cases across multiple specialties including Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, ENT, GYN, GU, Endocrine, and Surgical Oncology

• Maintain strict adherence to aseptic technique, infection prevention practices, and universal surgical safety protocols

• Anticipate surgeon needs by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies accurately and efficiently

• Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, draping, and application of surgical devices as needed

• Handle, label, and transfer specimens in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards

• Support efficient case turnover and maintain organized sterile fields throughout procedures

• Accurately document perioperative care using facility-approved workflows

• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, RNs, and interdisciplinary perioperative teams

• May be required to precept or support orientation of OR staff

• Float within the perioperative department as needed to support operational needs

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of recent CST experience

• Prior experience in an Ambulatory OR setting preferred

• Strong exposure to outpatient surgical specialties

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced surgical environment

• Travel experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA – Required

• BLS (AHA or ARC) – Required

• Radiation badge
