Description

Title: Occupational Therapist – Outpatient
Location: Napa, CA
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 5x8 hours (8:30 AM – 5:30 PM); every other weekend coverage required (typically one weekend day)

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient occupational therapy services to adolescent, adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients

  • Perform patient evaluations, assessments, plan of care development, reassessments, and discharges

  • Treat a wide range of diagnoses including hand injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic conditions, and pediatric needs

  • Deliver therapy focused on activities of daily living (ADLs), upper extremity rehabilitation, sensory integration, and functional mobility

  • Fabricate and manage splints (dynamic, functional, and upper extremity) and provide orthotic/prosthetic support as needed

  • Conduct adaptive equipment assessments for pediatric and adult populations

  • Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety, injury prevention, and functional independence

  • Complete accurate billing and clinical documentation using Epic

  • Collaborate with Physical Therapy and interdisciplinary teams

  • Float to acute rehab and inpatient floors or nearby affiliate facilities as needed

Required & Preferred Skills and Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of outpatient OT experience required (2 years preferred per job overview)

  • Experience in outpatient occupational therapy required

  • Hand clinic and pediatric outpatient experience preferred

  • Experience treating hand injuries, orthopedic conditions, and neurological disorders (MS, Parkinson's, spinal cord injury, CVA, TBI)

  • Pediatric experience including autism, sensory integration, and adaptive equipment preferred

  • Proficiency in splinting, ultrasound, and manual therapy techniques

  • Strong skills in evaluation tools, cognitive assessments, and wheelchair positioning preferred

  • Experience with Epic charting preferred

  • BLS certification required

  • Active California OT license required (pending licenses not accepted)

  • Ability to float within hospital units and affiliated facilities

  • Willingness to work one weekend day every other weekend
