Description

Title: EEG Technician (Neuro Diagnostics)
Location: Syracuse, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift – 5x8-Hour (07:00–15:30), every other weekend

Job Responsibilities
• Perform routine and extended EEG studies in accordance with established ASET guidelines for neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings
• Accurately measure, apply, and maintain electrodes ensuring proper impedance and signal quality
• Monitor, record, edit, and prepare EEG data including 24-hour and long-term recordings for physician interpretation
• Perform descriptive analysis of EEG waveforms and patterns observed during studies
• Provide appropriate patient and family education, communication, and support throughout procedures
• Maintain EEG equipment and acquisition stations; stock supplies, report malfunctions, and document maintenance activities
• Enter raw data and document procedures accurately in accordance with hospital and departmental policies
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to support diagnostic and patient care needs
• Follow all hospital, departmental, safety, and infection control policies and procedures
• Float within scope of practice as required by operational needs

Required Skills & Experience
• Minimum 2 years of recent EEG Technician experience in an acute care hospital setting – required
• Experience performing routine EEGs across all age groups (neonatal to geriatric) – required
• EMU (Epilepsy Monitoring Unit) experience – preferred
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and advanced computer skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, teaching hospital environment
• Willingness to work assigned weekends and holidays per contract requirements

Required Certifications & Licensure
• Registered EEG Technologist (R.EEG T.) – required
• BLS (Basic Life Support/CPR) – required
