Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room (ER)

Location: Washington DC, USA 20037

Duration: 13 Weeks (Contract)

Shift: 3 x 12-Hour Shifts – Night Shift

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care in a fast-paced Emergency Department

  • Work in the trauma room as the bedside Trauma RN

  • Manage patient ratios up to 1:5

  • Perform advanced critical care interventions including medication titrations, arterial line management, chest tube care, and mass blood transfusion

  • Provide care to a diverse patient population including urgent care, psychiatric, pediatric, critical care, and trauma patients

  • Coordinate and deliver care to patients with complex nursing needs

  • Ensure patient safety, quality of care, and a positive patient experience

  • Document patient care using Cerner EMR

Required Qualification:

  • Minimum 3 years of Emergency Room RN experience

  • Willingness and ability to work in the trauma room as bedside Trauma RN

  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved Registered Nurse program

  • Current active RN license in state/district of practice

  • Cerner experience required

Current Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Highly Desired

  • Prior experience in high-acuity, high-volume trauma centers

Distance Requirement:

  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify as a traveler
