Shift: Rotating 12-hour shifts | 6:00 AM–6:30 PM & 6:00 PM–6:30 AM
Hours: 36 hours per week

Position Summary

Under the general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, the Respiratory Therapist provides comprehensive respiratory care services, including life-support, resuscitation, monitoring, and medical gas therapy. This role supports patients in intensive care and general practice units and requires strong clinical judgment, effective communication, and accurate documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver respiratory care services including oxygen therapy, ventilator management, and aerosolized medications

• Perform invasive and non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures

• Provide care to patients in ICU and general medical units

• Monitor patient responses to therapy and communicate findings to physicians and care teams

• Accurately document all patient care and complete required billing information

• Supervise and support respiratory therapy staff, students, externs, and new hires as assigned

• Maintain clinical competency and flexibility to support departmental needs across assigned units

• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Respiratory Therapist

• Associate of Science Degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program

Certifications & Licensure

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – National Board for Respiratory Care

• Active Michigan Respiratory Therapist License

• BLS certification (required)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy
