Description
Radiographer / Radiologic Technologist
Location: Grand Blanc, MI 48439
Job Duration: 13-Week Contract
Shift Options:
- 3 × 12-hour day shifts: 11:00 AM – 11:30 PM OR
- 4 × 10-hour shifts: 1:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Weekends: Every other weekend required
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Guaranteed Hours: Dependent on facility requirements
Primary Work Area: Operating Room (OR)
Required Experience: OR experience required
Training: Some training will be provided
Job Summary
Under the direction of a Radiologist, the Radiologic Technologist performs radiologic procedures to evaluate pathological conditions as ordered by a physician. The technologist uses independent judgment to determine proper imaging techniques, positioning, and radiation safety practices in accordance with department protocols.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Explain procedures to patients and prepare them for examinations
- Review clinical data and patient history prior to imaging
- Prepare procedure rooms and maintain supplies
- Position patients, operate imaging equipment, and obtain diagnostic images
- Administer IV contrast and monitor patients for adverse reactions when required
- Follow radiation protection and ALARA principles
- Prepare and maintain sterile equipment as needed
- Ensure patient safety, privacy, and comfort
- Complete all required documentation, logs, and records
- Assist with training new hires and students
- Manage PACS image quality and resolve image exceptions
- Complete RIS study indexing and documentation
- Coordinate with Radiologists on clinical protocols
- Demonstrate teamwork, professionalism, and customer service standards
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Work in hospital settings including OR, ER, inpatient units, and mobile imaging
- Possible exposure to radiation, high-voltage equipment, and infectious patients
- Ability to lift or move equipment and patients over 10 lbs as needed
Education & Experience Required
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Ongoing continuing education required
Certifications & Licensure Required
- ARRT certification in Radiography or registry eligible (must obtain within 6 months if eligible)
- BLS (Healthcare Provider) certification required
