Description

Telemetry Technician
Location: New York, NY 10029.

Job Duration: 9-13 weeks.
Shift: 5x7.5-hour mid/evening shifts.
Schedule: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM.
Hours per Week: 37.5 hours.
Guaranteed Hours: Dependent on facility requirements.

Job Summary:

Provide continuous ECG and cardiac rhythm monitoring, analyze ECG strips, identify arrhythmias, and respond to potentially life-threatening rhythm changes. Initiate and support code situations, record rhythms during codes, troubleshoot monitoring issues, and respond appropriately to all monitor alarms while ensuring accurate documentation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrocardiograms with proper electrode placement.
  • Communicate clearly with nurses, physicians, and healthcare staff.
  • Enter and verify orders in the computer system.
  • Retrieve and report laboratory results to the charge nurse.
  • Ensure documentation meets organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Safely manage and operate monitoring and medical equipment.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Certifications & Licensure (Required):

  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or Red Cross (within one year).
  • Completion of a Dysrhythmia course required.
