Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery
Location: Syracuse, NY
Shift: Nights | 3x12-Hour | 19:00 – 07:00
Qualifications (Must-Have):
• Active New York State RN License
• Minimum 1.5 years recent L&D experience within the last 2 years in an acute care facility of similar size/acuity
• BLS certification (must be current or eligible for renewal)
• Experience circulating C-sections (scrubbing preferred)
• Ability to float between L&D, Post-Partum & Nursery
• Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Position Overview:
Hiring skilled Labor & Delivery RNs to work 12-hour night shifts and provide comprehensive care for mothers and newborns across multiple units.
Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care throughout labor, delivery, and post-partum recovery
• Circulate C-sections and scrub when able
• Float to Nursery and Post-Partum as needed
• Perform accurate assessments and ongoing monitoring
• Document timely and accurately in the EMR
• Work collaboratively with OB, anesthesia, neonatal & support teams
• Deliver care with minimal orientation and demonstrate independent critical thinking
• Ensure safe patient environment, education and family support
