Description

Job Title: Radiology Interventional Technologist
Location: Grand Blanc, MI 48439

Job Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 4 × 10-hour Day Shifts
Schedule: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
On-Call Requirement: 1 weekend per month and 4 weekdays per month
Hours per Week: 40 hours
Guaranteed Hours: Dependent on facility requirements

Job Summary

Under the direction of a Radiologist, the Interventional Radiology Technologist performs invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist in the evaluation and treatment of patients. This role involves patient preparation, assisting physicians during procedures, operating imaging equipment, maintaining sterile technique, and ensuring radiation safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Explain procedures to patients and prepare them for examinations
  • Review patient history and clinical data
  • Prepare and administer contrast media, medications, and IV solutions
  • Assist Radiologists with complex interventional procedures
  • Set up and maintain sterile fields, imaging equipment, monitors, and injectors
  • Monitor patient condition before, during, and after procedures
  • Operate imaging equipment and ensure high-quality diagnostic images
  • Perform radiation safety practices using ALARA principles
  • Complete documentation in PACS and RIS systems
  • Perform quality assurance procedures
  • Assist with training of new staff or students as needed

Required Education

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ongoing continuing medical education as required

Required Certifications & Licensure

  • BLS (Healthcare Provider)
  • ARRT registration with advanced certification in one of the following:
    • Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI)
    • Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI)
    • Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV)

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on Interventional Radiology experience
  • Must have experience scrubbing in and assisting physicians during IR procedures

Nice to Have

  • Experience in IR lab and scrub role
  • Experience with emergent cases, embolization, and neuro-intervention
  • Familiarity with Siemens equipment
  • Knowledge of CT spin procedures
  • ACLS certification
