Description

Title: EEG Technician (Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics)
Location: Portland, OR
Duration: 16 weeks
Shift: Day – 5x8-Hour (07:30 – 16:00)

Job Responsibilities

• Perform EEG testing for inpatient and outpatient populations across all age groups (neonates through geriatrics)
• Conduct routine, sleep, sleep-deprived, ambulatory EEGs, and long-term monitoring (LTM/EMU)
• Perform EEGs in ICU, NICU, PICU, Emergency Department, and Level I Trauma settings
• Complete portable EEG recordings, including critically ill, sedated, and comatose patients
• Perform electrode placement and ECI brain death studies
• Assist with video EEG monitoring and extended monitoring studies
• Accurately document procedures using Epic charting system
• Collaborate with neurologists, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary care teams
• Float between units as needed
• Participate in rotating on-call coverage, including weekdays and weekends
• Maintain equipment, ensure patient safety, and follow hospital protocols

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of EEG technician experience
• Experience with inpatient and outpatient EEG testing
• Required experience in:
– ECI Brain Death studies
– Electrode placement
– Portable EEG recordings in ICU, NICU, and PICU
– Sleep EEG and sleep-deprived EEG
• Preferred experience in:
– Ambulatory EEG
– Long-term monitoring (LTM/EMU)
• Experience working in Level I Trauma and teaching hospital environments preferred
• Ability to work independently and manage a 1:1 patient ratio
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Experience caring for diverse patient populations and acuity levels

Required Certifications & Licensure

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – required and active
