Title: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
Location: Rochester, NY
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day – 3x12-Hour (07:00 – 19:00)

Job Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during elective and emergency surgical procedures for adult and pediatric patients
• Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies
• Perform surgical scrubbing, gowning, and gloving in accordance with sterile technique
• Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments during procedures
• Maintain a sterile field and adhere to infection control policies
• Assist with patient positioning, draping, and transport
• Participate in surgical counts and ensure procedural accuracy
• Document cases and workflows using the Epic charting system
• Float between operating rooms and surgical services as needed
• Participate in rotating on-call coverage, including one call shift per week and one weekend per month
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary OR teams

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of Certified Surgical Technologist experience
• Experience supporting both elective and emergency surgical cases
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced operating room environment
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
• Experience across multiple surgical specialties
• Epic charting experience – required
• Ability to float between units as assigned
• First-time travelers accepted

Required Certifications & Licensure

• NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) certification – required
