Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
Location: Elmhurst, New York 11373
Department: Adult Surgical Clinic
Assignment Dates: 14 weeks
Shift: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Speech Language Pathologist to support an adult surgical clinic within an acute care hospital setting. This role requires a clinician who is confident managing medically complex patients and has strong experience in dysphagia assessment and treatment.

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders
Provide dysphagia assessments and implement appropriate treatment plans
Work closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams in a fast-paced acute care environment
Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge planning accurately and timely

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of acute care Speech Language Pathologist experience
Experience treating medically complex patients
Dysphagia training and clinical competency required
Valid New York State Speech Language Pathologist license (NYSED) – Primary Source Verification required

Preferred Qualifications

Current BLS certification
