Job Title: Histotechnologist
Location: Watertown, New York 13601
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks (Start Date: March 16)
Shift: Day Shift – 8 hours (Start times between 5:30 AM and 6:00 AM)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Histotechnologist to join a busy pathology laboratory. This role is responsible for preparing high-quality tissue specimens for diagnostic evaluation by pathologists, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to established laboratory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Process, embed, section, and stain surgical and autopsy tissue specimens
Prepare and stain cytopathology specimens following laboratory protocols
Perform specialized histology techniques as required for diagnostic purposes
Ensure proper handling, identification, and documentation of patient tissue samples
Maintain laboratory equipment, manage inventory of supplies, and support quality assurance initiatives

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or related science OR HTL certification from a recognized agency
New York State Histotechnician (AAS) license required
Strong knowledge of histology laboratory procedures and safety standards

Additional Requirements

Candidates must reside outside a 100-mile radius of the facility
