Job Title: Medical Technologist / Lab Technologist
Location: Clinton Township, MI 48038

Job Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 5×8 Hour Mid/Evening Shifts (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 40 Hours
Guaranteed Hours: As per facility requirements

Job Summary

Under general supervision, the Medical Technologist performs routine and complex laboratory testing on blood and other body fluids or specimens using manual methods, laboratory instruments, and information systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex laboratory testing
• Operate laboratory instruments and information systems
• Ensure accuracy, quality control, and timely reporting of test results
• Follow laboratory safety and regulatory standards
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 6 months of experience in a medical laboratory setting
• Demonstrated technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge to perform laboratory functions
• Generalist experience required

Education

Required:

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or Clinical Laboratory Science
• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, or Biology may be considered with relevant coursework
• International education must be evaluated by a NACES-approved credential evaluation service

Certification & Licensure

• Technologist-level certification from ASCP, NCA, ASM, AABB, Client, or HEW

Schedule Notes

• Second busiest shift (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM)
• Rotating weekends required
• Lab processes approximately 6,000 tests per day; second shift handles about 40% of volume
