Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist
Location: Long Island City, NY 11102

Job Duration: 9 Weeks
Shift: 5×8 Hour Day Shifts (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 40 Hours
Guaranteed Hours: As per facility requirements

Job Summary

The Ultrasound Technologist performs ultrasound examinations, provides technical assistance to the Radiologist, and ensures proper operation and maintenance of ultrasound equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and examine patients for ultrasound procedures according to departmental guidelines
• Operate, adjust, clean, and perform minor maintenance on ultrasound equipment
• Follow safety procedures to protect patients and staff
• Ensure adequate supplies are available
• Capture and transfer images to PACS and physicians' workstations
• Assist with scheduling exams and answering phones
• Help orient and mentor new ultrasound staff
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of basic office and administrative practices
• Ability to problem-solve and make decisions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and discretion

Education Required:

• Associate's Degree in Diagnostic Medical Technology  OR
• High School Diploma/GED with completion of an accredited Ultrasound/Sonography training program

Certifications & Licensure

• ARDMS – Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
• BLS Certification
