📍 Job Title: RN – Emergency Department
📌 Location: Main Campus
43 New Scotland Ave, Albany, NY 12208
📆 Contract Length: 13 Weeks

⏰ Shift: Nights
🕖 Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

🏥 Emergency Department Overview

Seeking a highly skilled ED RN with strong adult assessment skills, especially in specialized populations including:
• Trauma
• Stroke
• STEMI

✔️ Excellent IV skills required

✅ Required Qualifications

• Active New York RN License
• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• Strong adult assessment skills

⚠️ Facility may accept Med/Surg RNs who are comfortable working with:
• Adult observation patients
• ED admissions

⭐ TNCC preferred

🧠 Advanced Skills Required

Candidate must be comfortable with:

• External Ventricular Drains (EVD)
• SEPS drains
• Arterial line set-up & monitoring
• Belmont rapid infuser set-up & use
• Chest tube set-up & assessment
• Zoll defibrillator use
• Assisting with Rapid Sequence Intubation (medication room prep)
• Assessment of mechanically ventilated patients
• Following complex protocols (Heparin drips, restraints, DKA management)
• EKG acquisition
• Transvenous pacing

⭐ Preferred experience with:
• Panda warmer
• LUCAS device

🏥 Procedures Performed on Unit

• Neurosurgical interventions (EVD, SEPS drain)
• Procedural sedation
• Post-thrombectomy care
• Advanced critical care procedures as listed above
