Description
Respiratory Therapist
Location: Detroit, MI 48236
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 3 × 12-Hour Night Shifts
Schedule: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
Hours per Week: 36 Hours
Guaranteed Hours: Dependent on facility requirements
Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, the Respiratory Therapist delivers life-support, resuscitation, monitoring, and medical gas therapy to patients. The role includes performing invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures for ICU and general care patients. Responsible for effective communication, accurate documentation, and completion of billing information. May supervise and guide therapists, externs, and students as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience
- 1.5 years of ICU/Floor experience
- ABG competent
Required Education
- Associate of Science Degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (required)
- Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy (preferred)
Required Certifications & Licensure
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – NBRC
- Active Michigan Respiratory Therapist License
- BLS Certification
Preferred Skills & Experience
- NRP certification
- Pediatric ICU and Neonatal experience
- Cerner EMR experience
- Experience with Puritan 980, Hamilton Transport, and Servo U ventilators
Additional Information
