Telemetry Technician

Location: Long Island City, NY 11102
Job Duration: 9 Weeks
Shift: 3 × 11.5-Hour Night Shifts
Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Hours per Week: 34.5 hours
Guaranteed Hours: Dependent on facility requirements

Job Summary:

The Telemetry Technician is responsible for continuous ECG monitoring, rhythm interpretation, and identification of cardiac dysrhythmias. The role involves monitoring alarms, responding to rhythm changes, supporting code situations, and ensuring accurate ECG documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform continuous ECG monitoring and rhythm analysis.
  • Identify and respond to potentially life-threatening arrhythmias.
  • Record and document rhythms during codes.
  • Perform EKGs with proper electrode placement.
  • Troubleshoot monitoring and equipment issues.
  • Communicate clearly with nurses, physicians, and clinical staff.
  • Enter and verify orders and retrieve lab results in the system.
  • Ensure accurate documentation per facility standards.
  • Safely operate monitoring and medical equipment.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Prior experience working directly as a Telemetry Technician or Monitor Tech.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office).

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Required Certifications:

  • BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross).
  • Dysrhythmia certification (required).
  • EKG certification (preferred).
