Unit Details

HICU (High Intensity Care Unit) – 40 Beds

• ICU step-down / intermediate care, telemetry, and med/surg level patients

• Stable but critically ill patients with potential for rapid condition changes

• Semi-private rooms; some with telemetry monitoring

• Patient population includes: post-cardiac arrest, pneumonia, sepsis, acute hypoxic respiratory failure, CVA rehab, and various cardiac, respiratory, renal, and GI/GU conditions

• Equipment & therapies include: G-tubes, PICC lines, chest tubes, HFNC, tracheostomies, mechanical ventilation, blood transfusions, and non-titratable drips

BHU (Brain Health Unit) – 60 Beds

• Two floors (20 beds 40 beds)

• Medical and neurological diagnoses

• Average LOS: 20–25 days

• Focus on medication management, rehab services, and structured group/individual activities

Burk 2 – Ventilator Unit (18–23 Beds)

• Long-term care for patients with chronic and complex respiratory conditions

• Many patients require ventilator support

• Requires strong organizational and leadership skills

• Vent management training and alarm response required
