Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg Telemetry (Day Shift)

Location: Edinburg, TX

Department: New Medical/Surgical Unit

Shift: Days | 3 x 12-hour shifts

Role Overview

You will be responsible for the total care of patients requiring cardiac monitoring and medical-surgical intervention. By applying your knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan, you will ensure that every patient receives age-appropriate and efficient care.

Key Duties:

• Initial & Ongoing Assessment: Perform comprehensive review of systems and document nursing needs accurately.

• Admission Excellence: Complete admission assessments within established timeframes according to policy.

• Clinical Decision Making: Interpret patient information to determine and implement appropriate nursing interventions.

• Care Delivery: Provide competent, caring, and efficient service to patients, families, and the community.

Requirements & Qualifications

Clinical Experience:

• Total RN Experience: Minimum of 2 years .

• Specialty Experience: Minimum of 2 years specifically in Med/Surg Telemetry.

• Systems: Proficiency with Cerner is required.

Education & Licensure:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program. BSN is highly desired.

• License: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas (or valid Compact license).

Certifications:

• NIHSS (Required)

• BLS (Required)

• ACLS (Required)

Travel Requirement:

• Radius Rule: To qualify for this contract role, candidates must reside at least 100 miles away from the facility.
