Description
Title: Surgical Services – Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST)
Location: Portland, OR
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Mid Shift – 5x8-Hour (15:00–23:00)
Start Date: 03/16/2026 (Must be able to start on this date)
Job Responsibilities:
-
Function as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) in a high-volume General Operating Room (24 suites)
-
Provide 1:1 scrub support for a wide range of surgical procedures
-
Scrub and assist in General Surgery, Orthopedic, Neuro, Gynecology, and Urology cases
-
Assist with advanced Neuro procedures including cervical fusions, craniotomies, VP shunts, lumbar fusions, ALIF, XLIF, and kyphoplasty
-
Support Orthopedic surgeries including total knee replacement, total hip replacement, arthroscopy, spinal fusion, and fracture reductions
-
Scrub General Surgery cases such as appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resections (open/LAP), hernia repairs, and thyroidectomy
-
Maintain strict aseptic technique and sterile field integrity
-
Perform proper instrument handling, sterilization, and disinfection practices
-
Ensure accurate specimen handling and labeling

Follow Universal Protocol (Time Out) procedures

Adhere to laser safety, radiation safety, sharps safety, and fire safety standards
-
Float within the hospital or to affiliated facilities as needed

Participate in scheduled call rotations with a 30-minute response time
Required Skills & Experience:
-
Minimum 2 years of recent OR Tech experience
-
First-time travelers accepted

Must be able to scrub all surgical procedures, including Neuro and Orthopedic cases

Strong experience in instrumentation and complex surgical case setup

Must demonstrate strong competency in Neuro and Ortho procedures
-
Experience in a fast-paced acute care surgical environment required

EPIC charting experience preferred
-
Must have reliable personal transportation
Required Certifications:
-
NBSTSA (CST) Certification – required (If not certified, may submit for screening)

BLS (Basic Life Support) – required
