Title: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics – Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Massena, NY
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day Shift, 3x12-Hour (07:00–19:00)

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide respiratory therapy services to neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients in a small community hospital setting

• Deliver care in Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department environments

• Manage non-invasive ventilation including BiPAP and CPAP

• Monitor and troubleshoot high-pressure alarms and support weaning from mechanical ventilation

• Stabilize patients requiring invasive ventilation in the Emergency Department prior to transfer to tertiary facility

• Perform airway management including extubation, nasal and oral airway placement, and suctioning (oral/nasal/tracheal)

• Provide tracheostomy care and management

• Administer aerosolized medications using MDI, Medihaler, aerosol mask, aerosol trach setup, handheld nebulizer, T-piece, and trach collar

• Deliver oxygen therapy including High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)

• Administer respiratory medications including bronchodilators, inhaled steroids, and other prescribed agents

• Perform pulmonary hygiene therapies and chest physiotherapy

• Draw and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)

• Accurately document assessments, treatments, and outcomes in Epic EMR

• Float within facility as needed to meet patient care demands

• Participate in required on-call rotation

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of recent Respiratory Therapist experience

• Community hospital experience required

• Experience in Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department settings

• Proficiency in non-invasive ventilation management

• Experience with airway management and suctioning techniques

• ABG draw and interpretation experience

• Experience with High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)

• Experience with Servo I and LTV 1200 ventilators

• Epic EMR experience – required

• Must reside greater than 75 miles from facility

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• Active New York State Respiratory Therapist License – required and in hand at submission

• BLS (AHA) – required

• ACLS (AHA) – required

• CRT – required
