Title: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics – Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Columbus, OH
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-Hour (19:00–07:30)

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide respiratory therapy services to adult and geriatric patients in a large academic medical center

• Deliver care across Med/Surg floors, Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Adult Critical Care, and Emergency Department settings

• Manage and monitor mechanical ventilation, including troubleshooting high-pressure alarms and supporting ventilator weaning

• Administer and manage non-invasive ventilation including BiPAP and CPAP

• Operate Client ventilators (Hamilton ventilator experience preferred)

• Perform airway management including oral and nasal airway placement, suctioning, extubation, and tracheostomy care

• Provide pulmonary hygiene therapies and sputum specimen collection

• Administer respiratory medications including bronchodilators, inhaled steroids, nitric oxide, racemic epinephrine, and other prescribed agents

• Deliver oxygen therapy including High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) and trach collar setups

• Utilize medication delivery systems including MDI, nebulizer (handheld), aerosol mask/trach setup, T-piece, and Medihaler

• Draw and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)

• Accurately document patient care and interventions per facility standards

• Float between campuses as required based on staffing needs

• Work required weekends and holiday rotations

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience

• Experience in Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department settings

• Strong ventilator management and troubleshooting skills

• Experience with non-invasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP)

• Proficiency in airway management and suctioning techniques

• ABG interpretation experience required

• Experience managing patients with COPD, asthma, and oncology-related respiratory conditions

• Previous travel experience preferred

• Ability to work in a fast-paced academic medical center environment

• Flexibility to float between campuses as needed

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• Active Ohio State Respiratory Care License – required

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – required

• BLS – required

• ACLS – preferred

• CRT – preferred

• High School Diploma and College Diploma
