Registered Nurse – ICU
Facility: Bristol Regional Medical Center
Location: 1 Medical Park Blvd, Bristol, TN 37620, United States
Start Date: 03/15/2026
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day, 3x12 (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
Charting System: EPIC (preferred)
Float Required: Yes (to PCU and occasionally MS as needed)
Position Overview
The Registered Nurse – ICU provides high-acuity, evidence-based critical care to adult patients requiring intensive monitoring and advanced life support. The nurse is responsible for managing complex, multi-system conditions and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes in the ICU and, when required, PCU settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive critical care using the nursing process and evidence-based practice
- Perform advanced patient assessments and continuous cardiac monitoring
- Manage and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Provide care for patients with multi-system organ dysfunction and acute critical conditions
- Monitor and manage ventilated patients and respiratory support therapies
- Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and cardiac rhythms
- Administer blood products and manage central, arterial, and PICC lines
- Provide neurological monitoring including stroke management
- Assist with advanced cardiovascular devices as indicated
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
- Float to PCU and MS units within scope as required
- Participate in clinical education and support of nursing students
Required Qualifications
- Licensure: Active Tennessee RN license or Compact RN license (required at submission)
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 year recent ICU experience
- First-time travelers accepted
- Certifications:
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- NIHSS
- PALS (preferred)
- Other Requirements:
- Must reside at least 100 miles from facility
- License in hand at time of submission
- Willingness to float within scope of practice

- Days: 1:2
- Nights: 1:2
- Weekends: 1:2
- Number of Beds: 38
- Special Equipment: IABP, Swan-Ganz, Impella, Temporary Pacemaker, EVD, CRRT
Clinical Skills & Competencies
- Hemodynamic monitoring (FloTrac/Vigileo, Swan-Ganz)
- Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) and Impella support
- Ventilator and airway management
- Continuous IV sedation and paralytics
- CRRT/CVVHD
- Arterial and central line management
- EVD and ICP monitoring
- Stroke and acute neurological care
- Blood product administration
- Infection prevention and isolation precautions
Scheduling
· Weekend Coverage: 4 weekend shifts per schedule period
- On-Call: Not required
- Floating: Required to PCU and occasionally MS as needed
