X-Ray Technician

Location: New York, NY 10019
Job Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 5x7.5-Hour Shifts (Varied)
Hours per Week: 37.5 Hours
Guaranteed Hours: Dependent on facility requirements

Job Summary:

The X-Ray Technologist operates radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images of the body. Responsible for preparing patients for procedures and following safety measures to ensure compliance with regulations and the safety of patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and position patients for radiologic procedures
Operate imaging equipment and adjust exposure settings
Follow radiation safety and infection control protocols
Process and evaluate radiographic images for quality
Document patient care and exam details accurately
Perform preventive maintenance checks and report equipment issues
Maintain radiology supply inventory
Ensure a safe and clean working environment
Maintain required CME and professional competency
Complete Age-Specific Competency annually
Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Skills:

Strong communication and teamwork skills
Knowledge of radiation safety and diagnostic procedures
Dependable and detail-oriented

Education & Licensing Requirements:

Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology
New York State Licensed Radiologic Technologist (L.R.T)
ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Certification
