Shift: Nights – 3x12 or 4x12 Hour (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Schedule: Choice of 36 Hours/Week or 48 Hours/Week
Charting System: Epic (Experience Required)
Float Required: Yes – To MICU, SICU, CCU, PCCU based on competency; internal float team support
Call Requirement: NA

Note: 2–3 years of staff CVICU experience required.
Trauma Level One experience required.
Navy blue scrubs required.
Competency test will be conducted within 24 hours of submission.

Position Overview:
Registered Nurse will provide high-acuity care in a 20-bed Cardiothoracic/Vascular ICU (CPS/VICU) caring for immediate postoperative cardiac and vascular surgery patients requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring, vasoactive titration, and mechanical circulatory support.

Job duties:

• Provide 1:1 or 1:2 critical care to immediate postoperative cardiac and vascular surgery patients
• Perform advanced hemodynamic monitoring including PA catheters, FloTrac, arterial lines, and central lines
• Manage and titrate vasoactive and inotropic infusions for hemodynamic stability
• Care for patients requiring mechanical circulatory support including IABP, Impella, HM2, HM3, CentriMag, VA & VV ECMO
• Manage CRRT therapy and continuous cardiac monitoring with ECG interpretation
• Monitor and maintain ventilators, spinal drains, temporary pacemakers, and invasive lines
• Assist with and monitor patients during procedures including intubation, bronchoscopy, central line placement, chest tube insertion, ECMO cannulation, and emergent surgical interventions
• Recognize and respond to life-threatening complications using ACLS protocols
• Collaborate with cardiothoracic surgeons, intensivists, and interdisciplinary teams to implement individualized plans of care
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered education and support to patients and families

• Care of high-acuity, immediate postoperative cardiac and vascular surgery ICU patients
• Advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• Ventilator management
• Arterial line (A-line) management
• Spinal drain management
• Temporary pacemaker management
• Vasoactive and inotropic drip titration
• ECG interpretation and continuous cardiac monitoring

• Minimum 2–3 years of recent staff CVICU experience
• Level One Trauma Experience Required

• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• CCRN preferred
• CSC preferred

• Epic experience required
• Competency test will be conducted within 24 hours of submission.

• Patient Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2
• Patient Population: Immediate postoperative cardiac and vascular surgery ICU patients
• Patient Diagnoses: Post CABG, valve replacement, vascular surgery, cardiogenic shock, heart failure requiring mechanical support
• Number of Beds: 20
• Daily Census: Average 12 patients
