Job Title: Surgical Technologist – Labor & Delivery Unit
Location: Rochester, MI 48307

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 5x8-Hour Nights
Hours per Week: 36–40 Hours
Guaranteed Hours: Dependent on facility requirements

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Surgical Technologist experience

• Must have Labor & Delivery experience

• CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) required

• Current BLS certification required

• High school diploma or GED required

Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and Surgical Team, the Surgical Technologist is responsible for preparing and maintaining the sterile field, handling surgical instruments, and assisting during procedures in the Labor & Delivery unit. The candidate must anticipate the needs of the surgical team and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and set up the operating room with necessary instruments and supplies

• Scrub and assist during surgical procedures

• Ensure proper functioning of surgical instruments and equipment

• Maintain sterile technique and infection control standards

• Assist with patient preparation, transport, admission, transfer, and discharge

• Respond to emergency situations as required

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment

• Support inventory and supply management

• Follow hospital policies and safety guidelines

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move patients
• Ability to push/pull case carts and equipment
• Prolonged standing and walking
• Ability to work in a fast-paced patient care environment
