Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist

Location: Fayetteville, NC

Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: Day Shift – 4x10 Hours (07:00 AM – 05:00 PM), weekends and call required

Job Responsibilities and Required/Preferred Skills and Requirements

The Interventional Radiology Technologist is responsible for assisting physicians during minimally invasive image-guided procedures while ensuring patient safety and high-quality imaging. The technologist will work in a fast-paced radiology environment supporting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians during interventional radiology procedures using imaging guidance.

  • Prepare and maintain sterile fields and ensure proper setup of procedure rooms and equipment.

  • Operate radiologic imaging equipment to capture high-quality images during procedures.

  • Prepare patients for procedures, explain processes, and monitor patient condition during exams.

  • Assist with positioning patients and handling interventional tools and supplies.

  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record system.

  • Follow radiation safety protocols and infection control standards.

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient workflow.

  • Support department needs including floating to similar units when required.

  • Participate in weekend rotations and on-call coverage as scheduled.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience.

  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required.

  • Strong experience assisting with interventional radiology procedures.

  • Ability to operate radiologic imaging and procedural equipment.

  • Knowledge of sterile techniques and procedural workflow in IR suites.

  • Ability to work in a high-volume hospital environment and support multidisciplinary teams.

  • Willingness to work weekends, call shifts, and variable schedules as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in acute care or trauma center settings.

  • Familiarity with Epic charting system.

  • Experience working in teaching hospital environments.
