Job Title: Registered Nurse – ICU (Critical Care RN)
Location: Lubbock, TX
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 16 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift | 3x12 (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
 

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled ICU Registered Nurse (Critical Care RN) to join a fast-paced acute care hospital. This opportunity is open to first-time travelers, offering exposure to a high-acuity environment with strong interdisciplinary support. The ideal candidate will have experience managing critically ill patients and be comfortable in dynamic ICU settings.

Requirements:

  • Active RN License (TX or Compact)
  • Minimum 1 year of ICU/Critical Care experience
  • Experience with patient ratios of 1:2–1:3
  • BLS & ACLS (AHA) – Required
  • Experience in acute care hospital setting – Required
  • Neuro ICU experience – Preferred
  • Travel experience – Not required

Key Skills & Responsibilities:

  • Provide care for critically ill patients in ICU settings
  • Monitor and manage ventilated patients and advanced airway support
  • Perform advanced hemodynamic monitoring and interpret critical data
  • Administer IV medications, including critical care drips
  • Respond to rapid changes in patient condition with appropriate interventions
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR systems
  • Ensure adherence to infection control and patient safety protocols

Unit & Patient Details:

  • Patient Ratio: 1:2–1:3
  • Float: Yes (between units as needed)
  • Patient Population: Adult & Geriatric
  • Trauma Level: Level II Trauma Center

Schedule & Additional Details:

  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Call: Not required
  • Block Schedule: Not available
  • 48 Hours/Week: Available
