Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room (OR)
Location: Washington, DC
Local Radius Rule: Must live 50 miles away from the facility
Schedule: 5×8-hour shifts | Monday–Friday | Days

Requirements

• PALS – Required

• BLS – Required

• ACLS – Required

• Active RN license (Washington, DC or compact eligible) – Required

• Minimum 3 years of Operating Room experience – Required

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program – Required

• BSN – Highly preferred

Job Responsibilities

The Operating Room Registered Nurse is responsible for providing safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care during surgical procedures.

Duties include:

• Perform scrub and/or circulating roles for operative procedures

• Prepare and maintain the operating suite using proper aseptic and sterile techniques

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate intraoperative patient care

• Collaborate and coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical team members

• Serve as a communication liaison for patients, families, and care team

• Prepare equipment, instruments, and supplies for procedures

• Ensure all equipment is functional and implants/supplies are available

• Support safe patient positioning and documentation throughout procedures
