Description
Job Title: MRI Technologist
Location: New York, NY 10029
Job Duration: 9 Weeks
Shift: 5x8-Hour Days/Mids
Hours per Week: 40 hours
Positions: 2
Job Summary:
This position operates and/or prepares specialized equipment to perform magnetic imaging procedures. Applies technical judgment to obtain diagnostic-quality studies according to protocols and patient needs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform MRI imaging procedures
- Position patients and coils to obtain optimal imaging results
- Educate patients about procedures and provide necessary instructions
- Review patient safety questionnaires before MRI scans
- Ensure all MRI images are properly labeled per department SOP
- Evaluate images for quality and transmit them to PACS in a timely manner
- Complete all studies in IDX (Radiology Information System) promptly
- Maintain cleanliness of MRI rooms and equipment
- Scan and manage patient-related documents
- Maintain necessary supplies and accessories
- Accurately record patient tracking information in IDX
- Schedule exams as required
- Report equipment issues or unsafe conditions
- Assist physicians when needed
- Call in-patients as required
- Perform clerical duties when support staff is unavailable
- Follow MRI safety protocols strictly
- Adhere to infection control policies
- Attend required training and professional development sessions
- Maintain required licensure and compliance standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, physical sciences, and MRI physics
- Excellent technical and imaging skills
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of MRI experience
Education:
- Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T. approved Radiologic Technology program
Certifications & Licensure:
- New York State License in Diagnostic Radiology
- ARRT MRI Certification
- BCLS Certification
Schedule:
- Sunday: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- Monday to Thursday: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Note: NY State Department of Health Radiography License is required.
