Description
Job Title: Histotechnologist
Location: Watertown, NY 13601
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 5x8-Hour Day Shifts (Start time: 5:30 AM or 6:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 40 hours
Requirements:
- Must follow 100-mile radius rule
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Biology, or Chemistry OR HTL certification
- New York State Histotechnician (AAS) license required
- Experience in tissue processing, embedding, cutting, and staining
Job Description:
The Histotechnologist is responsible for processing, embedding, cutting, and staining surgical and autopsy tissue samples. The role includes preparing and staining cytopathology specimens for examination by the Pathologist.
Responsibilities also include proper handling of tissue samples, preparing microscopic sections for diagnosis, maintaining equipment and supplies, and performing specialized techniques as needed. The position requires adherence to quality standards and participation in quality assurance programs.
