Job Title: Registered Nurse – Emergency Room
Facility: UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital
Location: Harvey, IL
Night shift schedule: 3×12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Position Summary: The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN-ER) provides high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, urban Level I Trauma Emergency Department. The RN is responsible for assessing, triaging, and managing patients with a wide range of acute and critical conditions while collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department
Perform rapid assessment, triage, and prioritization of patients based on acuity
Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions as ordered
Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to changes in status
Document all patient care accurately using Epic EMR
Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals
Maintain compliance with hospital protocols, safety standards, and trauma guidelines
Provide patient and family education as appropriate
Participate in emergency response and trauma care situations

Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of ER nursing experience (urban Level I Trauma experience required)
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS (required)
TNCC and CPI preferred
First-time travelers accepted
No pending nursing license allowed
