Registered Nurse – ER
Facility: Methodist South Hospital
Location: 1300 Wesley Dr, Memphis, TN 38116
Start Date: 06/01/2026
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Schedule: 4x12-Hour Nights
Note: Level I Trauma Center | Must be willing to work 48 hours | Minimum 2 years recent ER travel experience required | Level I Trauma experience mandatory | No first-time travelers unless 3 years experience | 100-mile radius rule (strict)
Position Overview:
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse provides high-acuity emergency care in a fast-paced Level I Trauma Center. The RN is responsible for rapid assessment, stabilization, and treatment of critically ill and injured patients across all age groups in an acute emergency setting.
Job duties:
Provide immediate triage, assessment, and stabilization of emergency and trauma patients
Deliver care to critically ill patients in a high-volume Level I Trauma Emergency Department
Manage airway emergencies, cardiac arrests, and multi-system trauma cases
Administer emergency medications, IV therapies, and blood products as required
Perform continuous patient monitoring and respond to rapid clinical changes
Assist with trauma resuscitation, including coordination with trauma team
Manage ventilated patients and support respiratory interventions
Perform cardiac monitoring, rhythm interpretation, and emergency interventions
Support care for patients with stroke, MI, respiratory failure, and major injuries
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all emergency care provided
Ensure adherence to trauma protocols, infection control, and safety standards
Requirements:
Licensure: Active RN License (Compact or TN)
Experience:
Minimum 2 years recent ER experience with travel required
Level I Trauma Center experience required
3 years experience preferred for first-time travelers exception

Patient Ratios: Not Specified
Patient Population: All age groups (pediatrics to geriatrics)
Patient Diagnoses: Trauma cases, cardiac emergencies, stroke, respiratory failure, sepsis, multi-system injuries, and other acute emergency conditions
