Registered Nurse – Clinic/Ambulatory
Facility: Kings County Hospital
Location: 451 Clarkson Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11203
Start Date: 05/20/2026
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift (08:00 AM – 04:30 PM)
Schedule: 5x8-Hour
Charting System: EPIC
Note: Outpatient/Clinic setting | Cardiac-focused department (Electrocardiogram Unit) | Strong IV & phlebotomy skills required
Position Overview:
The Registered Nurse in the clinic/ambulatory setting provides high-quality patient care in an outpatient environment, focusing on cardiac and general medical conditions. The RN supports diagnostic procedures, patient education, and care coordination to ensure effective treatment and continuity of care.
Job duties:
- Provide direct patient care in a clinic setting, including assessment, monitoring, and documentation.
- Perform IV insertion and phlebotomy for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Assist with cardiac diagnostic tests such as EKGs, stress tests, and echocardiograms.
- Monitor and manage patients with cardiac conditions including arrhythmias, heart failure, and hypertension.
- Educate patients on disease management, medications, and follow-up care.
- Assist physicians during procedures such as cardiac catheterizations and electrophysiology studies.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with clinical protocols.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure smooth workflow.
Requirements:
Licensure: Active New York State RN License
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or clinic experience
Experience with IV insertion and phlebotomy required
Certifications:
BLS (AHA) required
ACLS (AHA) required (Queens only/preferred)
Other requirement:
Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) required
Strong cardiac care knowledge preferred
Ability to work in a fast-paced outpatient setting

Patient Population: Adult patients
Patient Diagnoses: Cardiac conditions including heart failure, arrhythmias, hypertension, and patients requiring cardiac diagnostics and monitoring
